Find the Right Treatment for Your Smile

The best dental treatment depends on more than how your smile looks. Your dentist will also consider the health of your teeth and gums, the strength of your bite, the number of teeth affected, and what you want to improve.

As a prosthodontic practice, Legacy Prosthodontics can evaluate both appearance and function before recommending a personalized treatment plan. Your plan may involve one procedure or a carefully coordinated combination of treatments.

Cosmetic or Restorative?
What It May Address
When It May Be Recommended
Dental Implants incl. All-on-X
Cosmetic & Restorative
One missing tooth, several missing teeth, or a full arch of failing or missing teeth
When you want a stable, long-term tooth replacement supported by implants rather than a removable restoration
Dental Crowns
Cosmetic & Restorative
Cracked, weakened, worn, heavily filled, misshapen, or discolored teeth
When a tooth needs greater strength, protection, or coverage than a veneer or reshaping treatment can provide
Dental Bridges
Primarily restorative with cosmetic benefits
One or more missing teeth located next to healthy teeth or implants
When you need a fixed replacement for missing teeth and an implant may not be the preferred option
Dentures
Primarily restorative with cosmetic benefits
Several missing teeth or an entire arch of missing teeth
When you need to restore your ability to chew, speak, and smile with a removable or implant-supported restoration
Full-Mouth Reconstruction
Cosmetic & Restorative
Widespread tooth damage, extensive wear, multiple missing teeth, bite problems, or several overlapping concerns
When restoring your smile requires a coordinated combination of crowns, implants, bridges, dentures, veneers, or other treatments
Veneers
Primarily cosmetic
Discoloration, minor chips, small gaps, uneven shapes, or other concerns affecting the front of your smile
When the underlying teeth are healthy but you want to improve their visible shape, color, size, or symmetry
Tooth Reshaping
Cosmetic
Small chips, uneven edges, minor overlaps, or teeth that appear slightly too long or irregular
When subtle changes to the enamel can create a smoother, more balanced smile without extensive treatment
Smile Design Planning
Cosmetic & Restorative
Multiple concerns involving tooth shape, color, alignment, proportion, function, or missing teeth
When you want to preview and carefully coordinate several changes before beginning cosmetic or restorative treatment

Insurance & Financing For Your Dental Treatment

Dental insurance coverage can vary based on the type of care you need, the reason for treatment, and the terms of your individual plan. Before treatment begins, our team can help you understand your expected costs and review available payment options.

  • Dental procedures: Preventive and general dental services, such as exams, X-rays, cleanings, and fillings, may be partially or fully covered by your plan. Deductibles, annual maximums, waiting periods, and frequency limits may apply.
  • Restorative procedures: Insurance may help cover treatments needed to repair damaged teeth, replace missing teeth, or restore oral function. These may include crowns, bridges, dentures, and, in some cases, dental implants or full-mouth reconstruction. Your out-of-pocket costs will depend on how your insurer classifies the procedure and the limits of your plan.
  • Cosmetic procedures: Treatments performed primarily to improve the appearance of your smile are generally not covered. Veneers, tooth reshaping, smile design, and other elective enhancements are often paid for out of pocket. When a treatment provides both cosmetic and restorative benefits, insurance may cover only the portion needed to restore dental health or function.

For care that is not fully covered, Legacy Prosthodontics offers financing and payment options that can help make treatment costs more manageable.

How Our Prosthodontists Build Your Custom Treatment Plan

During your evaluation, the Legacy Prosthodontics team considers the condition of your teeth, gums, jawbone, existing dental work, and bite. We also take time to understand what you would like to change and how you want your finished smile to look and feel.

These findings help us determine which treatments can preserve healthy tooth structure, restore comfortable function, and produce an appearance that fits your features. Because several procedures can sometimes address the same concern, we will explain your options and help you compare the benefits of each before you decide how to proceed.

Honest Answers from a Team You Can Trust

Most insurance plans either fully or partially cover restorative treatments that improve function, such as crowns, bridges, or implant restorations. Cosmetic procedures like veneers or whitening are typically considered elective, but we’ll review your benefits before beginning treatment, so you understand the full cost of the procedure.

Yes! Our on-site lab allows us to craft and place same-day crowns and dental implants, saving you the need for additional visits.

A prosthodontist restores and replaces teeth through procedures like dental implants, crowns, bridges, and dentures. While general dentists handle routine care like cleanings and fillings, prosthodontists receive additional training to manage more complex cases involving aesthetics, bite alignment, and full-mouth restoration.
